I know the answer to this has to be somewhere on here but can't find it.

I'm using a sky box in one room and can get BBC4 no problem.
In the bedroom I'm using a non sky box to the same dish but can't find BBC4 there although it's connected to the same dish.

Any help appreciated. (but I'm happy to wait until the Dublin and Cork game is over).:D

    10773 H 22000 QPSK 5/6

Only after 19:00, during the day it shows Cbeebees

Thanks for that Gerry but no luck. Box found nothing there.

The details that my, Ald/Tevion, box needs on manual search are:

    Satellite name: (I'm using Astra2)
    Transponder:
    Frequency:
    Symbol Rate:
    Polarization:
    Search Type:
    NIT Search:

    Any further ideas/help please.
I get all other BBC stations, 1, 2 and 3, by using automatic search, without any problem.

    10773 H - transponder 45 - 22000 - 5/6

    Scan after 7pm this evening.

Do you have the CBeebies channel?

Are any options given for the Search Type and NIT Search?

Chances are that the transponder is already programmed into the box. If you get Cbeebies already, then the settings are in there. Remember before 7PM it shows Cbeebies and BBC 4 after 7PM.

    Satellite name: (I'm using Astra2)
Transponder: This may refer to the existing transponder list unique to that box. If you can check the options here it may list the TP you want.
    Frequency: 10773
    Symbol Rate:22000
    Polarization: Horizontal
Search Type:Not sure what this is. Tell us what options it gives if any.
    NIT Search:No/ disable

Thanks folks but I'm getting confused. These are the only options given on my box.

    Satellite :currently reads Astra2
    Transponder: option to set number
    Frequency: option to set number
Symbol Rate: option to set number
Polarization: choice of Horizontal or vertical
Search type: choices of ALL, FTA or CAS
NIT search: choice of ON or OFF

No mention of 5/6 (but I do have that option when setting Sky box)

Yes I can get CBeebies channel

BBC4 is the only channel that I've come across that I can get on sky box but not on the Aldi/Tevion.

I'll give it another try tonight after 7 but I'll check back as well to see if any more thoughts have come to anybody.

    Search Type: FTA
    NIT Search: Off

5/6 is the FEC (forward error correction), probably auto set by the box.

If you can get the CBebbies channel you'll get BBC4 as they time-share the same frequency, video pid and audio pid but with different channel id (SID). The different channel ids allow both channel names to be stored during a scan even though they both share the same audio and video streams.

On my FTA receivers CBebbies displays BBC4 after 7pm and the BBC4 channel slot displays CBebbies before 7pm.

Thanks everybody, got it at last!!!!.

As I didn't know better I was leaving the Search Type as ALL thinking that was probably the best idea.

    All fine now.

    Again, many thanks.:)

Search type "all" should've found it too. The "all" setting should store both FTA and CAS (encrypted pay channels).
