Is it possible to lodge to an ROI BOI account from UK?

My daughter is working in the UK for the Summer. She is being paid in Sterling. Is it possible for her to lodge her money to her ROI Bank Of Ireland Student current account from the UK? She is based in London. She can't open a UK account as she is only there a couple of months.

yep, works both ways too, I make quite a few payments to the UK myself. once you have the bic and iban and the other details of the account it's easy.

whether or not her employer will be willing to do it is another matter though, she'll need to ask them.

Thanks for getting in touch.

As correctly mentioned above, your daughter's employer could transfer her wages directly into her account by electronic transfer. To do this they would need her IBAN and BIC. She would need to check with them if they could facilitate this for her. 

If they were to send the payments in Euros there would be no inward cross border charge from our side to receive the funds. There may be a charge to the employer from their own bank to do this.

We don't have a branch network in England so it would not be possible to call in to make direct lodgements.

I was using that credit transfer method that requires a long form to be filled out each time with IBAN etc, but then was told that there was a minimum transfer amount of €3000 on it. (from my BOI account to her Barclays account) Is the system you are discussing here something different? I ended up using Paypal.

The OP's query relates to payments coming into an ROI account with us from abroad. 

An international transfer can be processed through 365Online and this may be what your branch were referring to. You can find more information on making outward international payments online, here.
