Oh, whatever makes her happy, on a Saturday Night. Sadly, Suede can't be here tonight, they just dropped by to open up the thread ...

Hello pop-pickers, and welcome to the penultimate show of the series. The shock news is that there are no chefs this week.

It's time to guess, guess, guess the guests!

Guest number 1 - I was in Westlife, but I'm not bankrupt. My Father in Law got kicked out of his Political Party last year. I am
    Nicky Byrne

Guest number 2. I present a programme on RTE1 with Guest number 1. The show has been described on the Reality TV Forum as 'muck', 'profoundly grim' and 'ludicrous' I have presented on Nickelodeon, RTE and 98FM. I am
    Aidan Power

Guest number 3. Miriam's Facebook page describes me as being a member of " the biggest girl band of all time", which is a ridiculous claim, because I was actually in Girls Aloud. I have done some acting, including roles in both of the recent St Trinians movies. I am working on a solo album, I am
    Sarah Harding

Guest number 4. I am an actress best known for Love/Hate. I haven't died yet, I will be returning in Series 4. I was a contestant in Britain's Next top Model a few years ago. I have red hair, I am
    Susan Loughnane

Guest number 5. I play Rugby for Munster and Ireland. I have been known to get up to shenanigans with ducks. But I have a serious side, I am a UNICEF ambassador and I have just returned from the Lebanon where I visited Syrian refugee camps. I am
    Donncha O'Callaghan

Guest number 6 We are a band about to release our debut single. Our name sounds like an unlikely collaboration between the former lead singer of The Smiths and Eminem, but it isn't. We are
    Morrissey and Marshall

Also on the show is businesswoman Helen Rochford who talks about her battle with Alzheimers Disease http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/helen-63-battles-back-against-alzheimers-29358892.html

And that, as they say, is that.
Miriam will be rocking the house at 9.45pm.

We will leave you with a tribute to the man who was Mr Saturday Night on RTE1 for many years from 1988 until 1999, but who went over to the dark side this week. Goodbye and Good luck, Pat!

I should admit now that I'm spending the second half of the summer with my uncle in upstate New York - so I haven't been able to watch the last three episodes, and won't be able to watch this one or next week's finale either... :o:o:o

I don't mind too much, though - Michael Murphy, Terry O'Sullivan and David Norris aside, this series doesn't appear to be turning out much better than last year's. Not helped, of course, by the uninspiring new titles and theme tune, or by Miriam's failure to wear a dress up to this point, which is quite astonishing...

I have, of course, relied on Boards to fill me in - and I haven't come anywhere close to being disappointed. Skid, MrsD, Jonathan, Lisha, GSW, Welsh Megaman, Harry, Cofy, Lapin and everyone else, none of you ever cease to be brilliant. :D:D:):););)

Anyway, just before I went across the Atlantic, I made this comment:
...don't be at all surprised if the rest of this series of SNWM features more sports personalities or presenters, or the likes of Brian McFadden or Nicky Byrne (who'll be co-presenting The Hit, remember), or Daithi O Se and Rita Talty... ;)

Well, we had boxers three weeks ago, and now we've got a rugby player.

And we do indeed have Nicky trying to promote The Hit, with Aidan alongside him for good measure.

What odds may we offer, then, on Daithi and Rita turning up next week? Don't forget, the Rose of Tralee is almost upon us... :D:D;)

I may try to find myself near to an RTE enabled telly tonight to catch
    Morrissey and Marshall
    - why are we spoiler tagging?

Great to see a bit of fresh Irish talent getting a leg up (even if they're not acknowledged as Irish on the radio1 playlist; that's what having to live and ply your trade over here gets you I suppose!)

So two RTE heads from the Canteen, two girls I never heard of and my hunky rugger hugger. I will tune in for him alone.......:):):), Don't know the group and of course, we have the misery section.

Whatever happened the laughter?, does anyone remember laughing??

Hey Harvey, I'm jealous, that's a lovely part of the world to be in, have a great time! :)

I bet Mir will have a real fancy dress on tonight, word should really have filtered to her by now that we are missing her "Betty Boo" outfits!..........:D:D:D

    Can't wait.......(well, I can really.......:rolleyes::p)

Fairly bad timing for having on the presenters of "The Tit", they should have had them on 2 weeks ago to promote the show before it seems to have bombed.

Hopefully some questions to Nicky on how his bankrupt bandmate was able to write off €23 million in debt to be repayed by the Joe and Josephine soaps in this country and then when the dust settles resume a multi million music career with a massive video shoot in Nevada. Surely the people of Ireland should take 50% of everything he makes until we get the €23 millon back

Hey Atlantic, Filan was on with Derek Mooney on the radio show earlier this week. Wednesday I think... He spoke a fair bit about his financial problems. Tried to portray his involvement in property as "investing in Sligo" and "investing for his children's future".... Got a soft run, before Louis Walsh walked in to the studio "have you heard the album Derek? it's the greatest... blah blah blah blah"...

I find it kind of funny to be honest.. The kids of Ireland have been paying his wages for the last fifteen years, and now as adults they have to pay for him as well..

It's s bit strange really . I dunno why everyoutfit has to mirror the previous one.

Surely the Spice Girls still have a claim to being the biggest girl band of all time?

And I would say Morrissey and Marshall will be "making" their TV debut, not "having" it...

Looking at the Facebook page, I notice that all the listings end with "Tune in at [whatever] pm and enjoy!" Must be the same person who posts the Saturday Night Show listings, then.

Yes, I remember seeing Louis Walsh interviewed at some stage, and he was asked about Shane Filan. He put on his saddest expression, and said he is coping...he is a great guy, bla bla. As one of the many taxpayers helping to pick up the tab for him, I felt better straightaway.

    I love my Munster hunk.......

He was so lovely to my child at a match once, he was a real gent, he spent time talking to her, he was a real gent, he posed for photos and it meant so much to me at a difficult time for us.

Afterwards she said she would have loved a brother like him, I thought it was the ultimate complement a youngster could have possible have paid!.....

He is top notch in my house!.......:):):)

Miriam should have taken a leaf out of Sarah's book. I think she should be promoting Irish designers. The designer could be mentioned in the programme credits in exchange for loaning Miriam a guna or outfit.

For the benefit of anyone who finds this too vacuous (and if you don't, you ought to have a long hard look at yourself)...

On BBC2 at 10:10 (or 10:30 on BBC2 NI) - A Tribute to Mel Smith, followed by a repeat of a documentary about Not the Nine O'Clock News.

In January 2011, Harding and DJ Tom Crane, whom she had been dating since June 2007, announced their engagement. He proposed on New Year's Eve 2010 while on holiday in the Maldives.[40] However, rumours circulated that the couple had called the wedding off,[41] and on 6 September 2011 it was confirmed via her fiancé on his Twitter account. It is uncertain if the couple have split permanently as Crane posted "Sarah and I have decided to take a break. I have nothing else to say".[42]
In October 2011, Harding checked into a rehab centre in Cape Town, South Africa after "hitting rock bottom" following her split with Crane, citing alcohol dependence and depression.[43][44] She said that she drank to escape the breakdown of her relationship with Crane,[45] later revealing she also had an addiction to Zopiclone sleeping tablets.[44] Harding has not stopped drinking alcohol altogether, but simply "reined it in."[46] While in rehab, Harding met her boyfriend Theo Van Dries, whom she briefly dated; however, the relationship ended violently after a fight broke out in their hotel room on New Year's Day 2012.[44]
On 16 April 2013 Harding received a six-month driving ban after police caught her talking on her mobile phone while she was driving through Central London.[47] She was also fined £605. Harding had already accumulated nine penalty points on her licence for speeding prior to the incident.[48] Her case was heard at Highbury Magistrates Court, where had argued that using public transport would be difficult because of her celebrity status. However, District Judge Nina Tempia dismissed the claim, telling her, "You are a normal person. I can see no reason why you shouldn't be disqualified."[49]
Harding currently lives in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.[45]
