Aer Lingus Online Checkin

Are there charges for checking in online in advance? They've a list of prices for selecting your seat! Whassup?? Flights are fuppin' expensive enough, like!

If I remember right, there is a charge for selecting your seats early. (more than 30 hours before flight)
30 hours before your flight you can check-in online and it doesn't cost anything.
Also with Aerlingus, you can just check-in at the airport. It is not like Ryanair, they don't charge for checking in.

Poster 'wetext' above has it correct, beginning 30 hours before a flight you can check-in online and select a seat and there's no charge. Prior to that you have to pay no matter which seat you select.

Even if you don't have a printer at home, you can check-in online, select a seat and then elect to print off the boarding card from one of the kiosks in the airport, that's what I do unless I'm travelling at a busy time in which case I'll print it at home. If you have a bag to drop, there's absolutely no benefit in printing the boarding pass at home 'cause you'll have to go to the desk anyway.

I will have no internet/printer access on hols so can I just turn up at the airport in Lisbon with my booking ref, check in, get boarding pass there,( I will have no checked in luggage) without incurring any extra charges, I have no seat preferences.

Yes, if you are flying Aer Lingus there will be no charge. Go to the check-in desk and you'll be sorted.

It all depends on the airline. Aer Lingus don't charge you to check in at the airport & print off your boarding pass. Ryanair do.

If you turned up at Lisbon to check in for a Ryanair flight boarding passes would be the least of your problems.

you can print off yr return boarding pass up to 30 days before you travel with aer lingus.... did it two weeks ago going to lanzarotte and was fab, nobody in the bag drop queue, but bout 100 people in the check in queue

Which is kinda an important piece of information to give when you are asking for advice on your airlines check in procedures, don't ya think? As I couldn't remember off the top of my head which of the Irish airlines flew into Lisbon, I name checked both of them just to be on the safe side. And your point is what exactly..????

Enough of this indignation - why not just admit that you failed to notice the fact that Aer Lingus is mentioned in the thread title?

There were one or two clues in the thread. First, the title and secondly that acermaple asked about Lisbon, an airport that Ryanair don't fly to.

I'm sorry though, I thought my point was clear. I'll simplify it. Ryanair don't fly from Lisbon. At all. To anywhere. There.

Thanks for all the replies and sorry if I caused any confusion, I don't know what other airlines fly from Lisbon, I am only interested in the Aer Lingus procedures which is why I posted on this thread but maybe I should have made myself clearer.
