Love the pics.
Tips for your panning technique:
You need to stand closer to the car and select a longer shutter opening time and start to pan with the car a good bit on your left to a good bit on your right, just watch that background blur!
If you get it right you can even blur the front and rear of the car and keep the middle sharp, for that warp speed look.

A longer lens is what I really need, I was right up against a fence as close as I could get to the cars.
I put the camera down for a while and a just getting back into it again, need to spend a few quid on a lenses or two and a flash gun. Need to get saving... a few lessons would not go astray either

Well have fun, sold my camera (old 35mm film yoke) and haven't bought anything new yet, so the crappy 2MP "camera" on the phone will have to do...:(

Buy a monopod. Invaluable when doing panning shots. Helps keep the camera steady, and at the same height during panning.

Indeed. If it weren't for the Porsche Club stand you'd think you'd turned up on the wrong day. 50 cars on their stand including some very special machinery.
S2000 well represented as were Morgans. Good smattering of Ferrari & Lambo too.
Saw no Ford or VAG presence at all.
Seemed to be complete no-shows from some clubs.

The hill climbers and the bike track action were the making of it though. Very very impressive. Bira ERA was fabulous to see & hear......the Judd F1 and Ultima almost frightening. Bike-engined single seater sounded maniacal on full chat....

Don't know why we weren't allowed within 30' of the display in the parade ring -you'd need binoculars to see the stuff. Most irritating.

But it needs a crowd. I can't see it surviving beyond this year if a crowd doesn't turn up.

Traders must have lost their shirts tbh...mind you the restaurant wanted €7.25 for sausage and chips. ..???....and €6 for a plain so-so hot dog ? Hmmmm. Not doing yourselves any favours there tbh....

If you can, go. And bring yer own snacks. It might be the last ever. .....

Agree with TT. I thought it was a decent show and well organised. Stunt bike rider Mattie Griffen was a crowd pleaser as always. Lots of Porsches there and BMWdriver.net had a good showing too. Legendary Lamborghini Miura hidden under a tent, one of the rarest and valuable cars ever. I think years of screaming Civics and diffin' Twin Cams has made motoring events in Ireland something to be frowned on. Last years Bavaria street racing extravaganza in Dublin didnt really get the crowds either.

The crowd was disappointing though, maybe its the €20 entry fee or maybe its more fun to walk around H&M and Woodies on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Yeah, I was thinking of heading down... I was badly put off by the website actually. It's not exactly straightforward find out where it is. 'Limerick' should have been in the logo on page 1.

I only heard of it by chance, really. You'd think it would have been on the front page of motorsport.ie or something. That's a shame; I wish them the best of luck anyhow.

from those pics it looks pretty empty!

i was at the first one 2 years ago in adare manor and there was a huge crowd at it and it was really good. from Those pics it just looks like a fancy car lot.

The car clubs had to pay €20 per day to display????? no discount is that fair ??????,or even make sense.

alot of very disapointed people in Limerick,who wont be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
