    Hi

Heading to Mexico soon and land early evening into Mexico city airport and want to get a taxi down-town. I believe when you come out you have to purchase a ticket and go out to the yellow cabs, this is after avoiding all the taxi sir shouts at me. If anyone has been there any tips when getting taxis and what to avoid? Also do you have to pay in U$d?

In general is the Peso taken most places or is the U$d king? Not sure to bring a mix of both.

Heading to Mexico City for a few days then Puebla-Oaxaca-San Cristóbal de las Casas-Palenque-Mérida-Chichén Itzá and then chill out in Playa del Carmen. So if anyone has any tips things to do see, eat things to avoid would appreciate it

    Cheers

Peso is the currency, no particular use for USD there. Few enough US visitors visit Mexico City.

I can't quite recall the airport situation. It may even be worth pre-booking a transfer.
However, in Mexico city the taxi situation generally is problematic. Be careful to only take the regulated taxis, from hotels etc, not those driving around.

The museum in México is world class and the Teotihuacan pyramids well worth a day trip from Mexico. There is lots do there actually.

Yes: use the taxi booths in the arrival hall. They're offical, safe and clean.

Local currency is fine. I'm sure I even paid for my taxi via card at one of them.
