Hi guys, I'm just about to put an order in on Hardwareversand and I'm curious is there any special I need to do when ordering. I've read a thread here about some payment transferring and such.

Also, is there an estimation on delivery times? I can't find it on their site.

    1. Make your order on the site
    2. they will send you a mail with payment details
    3. do a money transfere with internet banking or in a branch to the IBAN & Swift code they supply you with.
    4. Enter your reference no in the description.

I paid for my order last thursday @ 9am, it took 24 hours for the cash to hit their account. I received the order yesterday afternoon. Just make sure all your items are in stock or it will take longer

On the site it says they accept cards and paypal, so why does everyone do a bank transfer?

I've been wondering about this since I plan to make an order in the next week or so.

They don't accept Visa/Mastercard card's unless they have recently started doing it.

Paypal charge an additional 3% for transactions.

Bank transfers are easy with online banking.

In general I place my orders with them on Sunday nights(after a long weekend of price checks and gear checks!). For me the delivery consistently arrives on the following Friday.

Does anyone know why the email at hardwareversand does not work.

They take up to and often over 24 hours to reply to emails. I would recommend just calling if you have an issue.

    On the subject of delivery.

Say like myself you live in an apartment building, like im sure many do. When they come to deliver the items and ring the (not so loud) buzzer and nobody is in, or takes too long for the delivery man's liking to come down and open up, do they take items back to depot and you have to collect there?
Or when ordering is there somewhere you can enter special instructions for delivery such as "please call 1234567890 half an hour before delivery to ensure someone is in and expecting delivery"?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,306 ✭✭✭N64

Delivery is handled by UPS - In my prior dealings with them, if the courier has an issue with delivery, he/she will call you. You could call up UPS and ask them to ring before they deliver, but I have no idea if they will allow it.

If you happen to be out when its delivered, it is usually loaded back into the truck and scheduled for delivery for the next working day.

I've asked UPS to call me, they said they would but in the end they didn't call.

    What was the result?

I was lucky that I saw it leaving, called the Shannon Depot and they told the van to come back and I went down and got my stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,943 ✭✭✭Jacovs

Good result in the end then. If they agreed to call beforehand and then didnt, even if its not part of their service, then thats pretty ****ty of them. One phone call couldve saved everyone a lot of hassle, potentially even more than the bit of hassle you had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55 ✭✭Chivral

They said they don't do it, but I told them that my intercom was broken so I wouldn't know if the van was downstairs. Then they said they'd call.

My order has been delayed. The mouse I ordered with it was to be in stock a day or too ago, but they didn't get it in apparently.

Still waiting?? My order still hasn't left Germany :( and my payment was received over 12 days ago ... sigh .. this waiting craic :L

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,943 ✭✭✭Jacovs

It takes that long? Was all the items you ordered in stock at the time you ordered?
I ordered saturday night, all items showed in stock. Its showing a status of "online order" at the moment, and the money has gone off my account.
Some of the items are now showing out of stock, so hope that doesnt result in a delay for me.

Whats the average delivery time? Sorry, this has probably been asked loads of times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

I was told it usually happens within the week considering your parts were in stock at time of order .. my parts were all in stock at the time but my payment took a few days to arrive to them so they put my order "on hold" for me.

Here is my order status .. also ups have only created the label so far .. and that was three days ago :/

Ah okay, that means they havent received my money yet, cos mine only shows online-order. Hope they kept the items aside when I actually placed the order and it was in stock.
If mine goes like yours then im going to be stuck with only my GPU to stare at for a week or more lol

Edit: did you pay soon as you placed the order, or why did it take that long for them to receive payment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

Well i emailed them to hold my parts and they replied they would hold them for an extra three days or something ... But both labels were created at the same time , so i expect UPS will deliver them at the same time :) saves them a trip so why not ?

The mouse that is holding up my order, should be in stock by the start of next week. Not much longer to wait, hopefully.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,943 ✭✭✭Jacovs

My one package has left Tamworth UK facility and other 2 packages have left the facility in Barking UK. Might get lucky and get everything tomorrow, otherwise 1 tomorrow and 2 on friday.

Ordered on the 26th of July, items supposed to be in stock on the 31st, items not actually in stock until the 7th, goods sent on the 7th.

3 parcels arrived on the 12th, one was not mine and will be collected by them on the 16th, no idea now when mine will arrive as they are unable to tell me - I assume they are waiting for my parcel to be sent back by whoever got it in error before reshipping it.

Anyone waiting on 8gb of ram, motherboard, a xeon processor, a ssd and a cpu fan? If so I have it :p

Having some trouble with this at the moment.

So I got the email from them and I'm trying to transfer the money to their bank:

    German Postbank Dortmund.

Problem is the bicswift they give (PBNKDEFF) identifies all the branches. The specific bicswift for the Dortmund branch is PBNKDEFF440.

    http://www.swiftbic.com/swift-code-PBNKDEFF440.html

So when filling in the BOI page do I put PBNKDEFF440 or just PBNKDEFF?????

I also have to fill out the address of the branch which I think is:

Hagener Straße 232, 44229 Dortmund, Germany

I want to fill this out correctly so my money doesn't get sent to the wrong place entirely. What a nightmare way to pay. Why can't they just accept a FCUKING CREDIT CARD like everyone else in the world?!

    Still waiting...
Sent them two email on Wednesday, no reply, not even the autoreply I had gotten with the email I sent two weeks ago.
When I get some credit, I may give them a call, if they still aren't getting back to me.

Bump. So I'm trying to order and pay via Paypal but the only option is some "cash on delivery" method?

I made an ordered yesterday at about 15:00, and paid via PayPal. Then I got a call from the AIB credit card fraud team about an hour later querying the transaction and I gave them the all clear (nice to know they are looking out for me!).

I just got an e-mail there saying two packages have just been sent via UPS. This will be my first build so really looking forward to an adult Lego session when it all arrives at some stage this week! Just hope my copy of Windows arrives at the same time.

I've a related, yet different question. Anyone know the minimum delivery time for HWVD?

I'm ordering a build this week, but I'll be heading to Electric Picnic at the weekend.

I plan to order on Wednesday so HWVD can send me the email and I can make the transfer on Thursday. However, I'm wary in case they play a blinder and Mr UPS rings my doorbell on Monday morning while I'm groggily rolling up a tent in Stradbally.

I don't imagine it'll arrive that quickly, but I'm never sure how fast couriered packages move over weekends. Anyone got any ideas?

UPS will try to deliver it 3 times, so you should be fine anyway.

It's usually 3 working days once they receive payment so I'd say it won't be there until Tuesday but like runaway said they will try deliver it 3 times (days) anyway if you aren't there the first day.

And it's finally on the way. It may or may not have the mouse with it, I told them that I would take part delivery, but heard nothing back.
    Should be hear on Wednesday.

How long does it normally take for a fund transfer payment to be acknowledged? I placed an order around 4pm on Thursday and transferred the money later that evening. I thought my order status would have got updated today but so far no change.

Just over a month, and I should finally have my order today. UPS guy called me from Cork just before 9 this morning, should be here in the next hour or two

Same with my order - payment confirmed since Friday and no movement on it yet.

From what I've read here, no-one knows for sure if they set aside stock for orders on a first-come first-served basis, or if they wait until EVERYTHING is in stock before packing and shipping it.

I really hope they set aside bits, because it seems like every time I check the site, different parts of my order are in/out of stock.

In fact, since this morning the Samsung 840 SSD line is 'discontinued'. I'm going to hope they kept one for me (or replace it with an equivalent from the new EVO line at the same price).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 374 ✭✭GoProGaming

ive just emailed them with a little rant and they replied saying they have just shipped it with ups and gave me a tracking number.

hopefully i get it by monday or tuesday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 153 ✭✭Roy Rogers

Hmm, nothing for me yet. I emailed them about noon today.

Did you use the information@ or service@ email address? I saw the information one mentioned for order-related questions on the website, but then noticed their previous email had said to use service.

Still, got a ticket number. I suppose I should just be patient :)
