    Hello fellow psychology enthusiasts,

Just wondering does anyone on the forum have any suggestions for CPD courses - short certificates, etc.? (The ones I'm familiar with are Child first, SAFEtalk and ASIST).

    Cheers
    W.Esme :)

PSI and other professional organisations provide day workshops on various CPD topics at a price.

Not sure what you are looking for.

    Hi JC

I'm a grad member of PSI so receive regular email re workshops/courses. I'm looking for clinically relevant short term courses run by the HSE, HEA, organisations (dealing with vulnerable individuals) - can be free or paid btw

    Thanks for your reply

    Hi WhirlEsme,

I'm unsure what it is that you're looking for?

Many courses will have clinical relevance, and it's unlikely you will get onto a HSE course unless you work for them.

I did notice that you mentioned Children First, Assist etc, I know that some of these courses are run for free, Google them, as I can't recall where I have seen them advertised.

In what capacity are you working presently? Or are you pursuing CPD in order to add to your CV|?

    Hi Dar100

I have child first, Assist and safeTALK already. I'm just seeking further training for my CV and wondering what others have completed

    Thanks for your reply

If you haven,t got under or post grad training in counselling I,d suggest the following:

    counselling skills/specific modalities CBT etc

    group facilitation

You seem to have the other basics already.

Try the Activelink website, also, many of the private fee pay colleges run CPD courses, maybe check them.

I'm looking for similar courses. In short, I'm looking for CPD courses that can be completed in a relatively short period of time, at low cost, to strengthen my CV while I look for work. I've done the safeTALK and will do ASIST and Children First once they're next run. I've looked at the BACP website and the only useful one really seems to be one on confidentiality, as counselling isn't area. Is there any other courses that fit that bill?

Hi all, thanks for the replys!
@Faith - I'm looking towards more psychology related courses than counselling too (so don't think the BACP would be applicable to my needs). In the meantime, I'm going to ask some of the psych trainees I work alongside what they found beneficial for their CVs - worth a shot!
