    As of this morning 14st 8lbs :o

Have lost 1st 7lbs since 24th June and have a good bit to go. Hoping to lose 21lbs in the next 3 weeks before I go on holidays.

I am 5ft 6in so not obese or anything but way too heavy for my liking.

Somewhere between 8.5-9 stone. I gained weight last year so I think I was about 8.25 then. Remember being 56kg at a competition a few months ago. They tend to make a weight category for me.

    150lbs this time last year
    190lbs at christmas
    160lbs now

Just over 15 stone, which is nearly 2 stone lighter than I was before christmas.

I'm on the famous "not eating 4 slices of toasted batch bread smothered in butter before bed every night" diet.

    I'm 6'2".

    11 stone, 6'2'' tall.

I have to be careful when walking on wooden floors, there's a chance I'll fall between the boards.

    Jesus, I was 18 stone this time 2 years ago...now I'm about 13 I think!

I'm 5'9" and carry it pretty well I think. Even at my heaviest I never looked like a monster. I feel good so that's good enough for me at the moment.

I know thats in the infamous BMI 'optimum' range, but it sounds a little light for your height, especially if your BF% is not already under 10%

The fact that the BMI index allows for a lower range of optimum weight for a 6'2 man to be 9 st 10 pounds is worrying

I'm 6'3, 15 stone, would like to be 14, but with low cholesterol and average body fat

6' 2". 14 stone on the button. Got down to 13.5 stone last year, tends to fluctuate. I cycle about 1200km per month, that keeps the gut in check.

    97.1kg currently - was 100.6

Doctor ORDERED me to lose weight down to 92kg within the month, with my ideal goal weight to be 80-82kg. :pac:

You're too skinny. In the words of strength coach Mark Rippetoe: " No one gives a **** about your bullsh*t abs if you're 5'11 and 170 pounds."

If you're an active man with a decent level of strength then BMI is a load of cat-sh*t.

Currently at about 93kg around 5'11". Carrying a little extra weight but not too much. Ten years as a front row served me fairly well in that respect, though a definite handicap in my current sporting hobby of distance running!

Asking for them to name their height and weight is a little like walking around a park at night swinging a baseball bat ans asking for all the gays to show themselves...

It's not the weights that got my attention. It's the uniformity of declared heights.

Apparently a huge number of responders are substantially above average height.

    Hmmm.

    Hmmm.

A load of men think they're 6ft+ and it's a load of nonsense; for some reason a lot of lads think they need to be 6ft in order to be masculine or something. I'm 5ft9 and the amount of my friends who are the same size as me but insist they're 6ft is hilarious.

What a horrible attitude. BMI is definitely not a good measurement, body fat percentage is much more accurate, but on what basis are you declaring that someone is too skinny? You've got to be dramatically underweight before it is a health issue, whereas being even a little overweight is bad for you. Maybe you like people being big and bulky, good for you, but you do realise that unless there is a health issue it is entirely subjective?

(On a technical note, I seriously doubt you'd have good abs at 5'11" and 170lbs. Unless they have a tiny waist their body fat isn't going to be low enough)

    Hmmm.

And I would bet the majority are no where near 6ft  I come across them regularly and they tell me I couldn't be 6ft4 because they're 6,2 and I'm a head and shoulders above them !!!

I'm 6,4 and 96 kilos. I was 109 at my heaviest but got my act in gear about 2 years ago.

    5'6 and 59kg.
It's a healthy weight. It has taken me a year to lose 4kg so chances are it'll stay off. Yay. May even try to lose another 4 by next year!

    Zillah wrote: »

Because being 12 stone when you're 6ft something generally means you'll be a bit on the skinny side.

(On a technical note, I seriously doubt you'd have good abs at 5'11" and 170lbs. Unless they have a tiny waist their body fat isn't going to be low enough)

That's entirely dependent on their body composition, and it's very easy to have visible abs at 12 stone and 6ft odd. As I said, that's a skinny enough build like.
