Does anybody in Dublin area has one? I have trouble getting the gears on my old Peugeot to work smoothly and I am expecting the hanger to be bent.

www.rothar.ie will let you use their workshop and tools for a fiver an hour. Might be handier, though they'd probably straighten if for your for the fiver instead if you prefered.

There's one on Fade street in Dublin 2, one in Phibsborough and one in Dun Laoghaire.

Thanks! I haven't thought about them! The one in D2 is on my way back home today.

Bee Cycles in Crumlin has one, and he's a boardsie. That shop opposite the Sundrive Superquinn also has one AFAIK. I'd trust those two over rothar mechanics I think.

I asked for my hanger to be straightened in Hollingsworth in Templeogue before, and the mechanic tried to eyeball the alignment and used a large adjustable spanner which was a bit heartbreaking to see considering a bent hanger appears to be quite a common injury and the tool isn't expensive for a decent sized shop with turnover like theirs. Make sure they have the tool before leaving your bike in (although it should only take a minute or two)!

I think I'll try to use the tool in Rothar myself, as the procedure seems quite easy. If this fails, I pop in to Bee Cycles as it just around the corner for me. Cheers!
