hi all,i have a niko sterling 4x32 on me 22lr,it has very thick crosshairs,ok for bunnies, i would like to do some paper punching with the 22,i like the fixed mag scopes,i had a knous 3-9x50,was crap, would not hold zero, got the niko for €30 off ebay, set it once, never lost zero since, cross hairs too thick for targets,so would like some recommendations on a not too expensive scope for the 22.,fixed power if possible with fine crosshairs, dont like the mildot, thanks all

    What kind of budget lad.

The fixed power with fine crosshair limits your choices. From the really cheap ones that may fall apart (flea-bay specials) to the likes of Weaver that are not so cheap but tick all the other boxes.

What have you on the HMR?

I'd put what you have on the hmr on the .22 if its not as good as this and put this on the hmr.
Hawke scopes are great value for money and reliable.

I'm just trying to think of a well priced scope, with fine crosshair, and fixed (or variable) power. Most come with some form of mil-dot or duplex (heavy) crosshair.

The weaver is always my first choice for fixed power. Good brand, reliable, and very, very fine crosshairs. Hawke do a good selection of scopes in fixed and variable but only have the L4 reticle which is a heavy crosshair, which narrows to a fine one with a centre (illuminated) dot. Maybe not ideal. They also do a mil-dot which actually has a fine crosshair if you can live with the mil-dots. Also most of their scopes are in your budget.

Other brands such as Redfield, Swift, Bushnell, etc are similar reticles (duplex, mil-dot, etc) but not in the mag you want or may not be in the price range.

You might have to compromise. However i'm not thinking 100% so maybe i've forgotten a brand. Someone might know of another i'm not thinking off.

One little problem, don't know if any dealer stocks them but the company themselves are very contactable. I think most of their sales are direct.

I had a Bushnell 3200 tactical 10x40mm on my CZ .22lr got second hand @€;130.
Great scope, clear optics and with the tactical turrets was easy to dial in the range if needed. Made up a drop chart for the ammo used.
    Small fine mildot reticle.

Funny, I have a Nikko Stirling 4x32 with Fine + reticle, its the older Nikko Stirling Special which was made in Japan.
Maybe worth looking out for one of these?
Or were you looking for a new scope?
