Head gasket gone?

Hi.. Was driving yest and pulled up to lights and thought I the engine sounded weird, turned down the radio and it sounded almost like a clicking noise (engine struggling to turn over?).. took off and there was a loss of power, thinking back now though there's probably been a loss of power over the last week or two (like the turbo wasnt picking up as quickly).. anyways drove for a few hundred yards and the car completely lost power and I had to pull in.. it won't start now at all, turn the key and get nothing. Temp gauge was normal prior to it cutting out.. I had filled it up woth coolant a few days before but it seemed empty after i checked it after it cooled down and there was a kind of orange sludgey residue in the coolant container and it was empty (so leaking anyways?).. have it towed and getting someone to look at it tonight but does it sound like the head gasket gone/engine f***ed?

Sounds like your issue is with the turbo but tbh it could be a number of things.
Did you check oil cap for grey muck?

Lovely, so a big job anyway! No will check it when I get home from work? What would that indicate?

Grey muck under oil cap could indicate coolant in engine oil. If the head gasket fails these two liquids can sometimes mix.

Take the car to a mechanic for proper diagnosis. It can be an expensive job but also a stuck vale or bad seal that will be easy and cheap to fix.
