    Hi,

I recently purchased this synaps combo. The subtitles are on by default. There is a subtitle button on the remote that allows you to turn them off, but that only applies to that particular channel. you need to turn it off on each individual channel but if you change station then change back again, they are back on. very annoying. cant find any helpful info in the manual or online. does anyone know a way around this?

    Thanks

There will be an option somewhere within the menu to permanently switchoff the subtitles, just a matter of wading thru the varoius sections of the menu to find it. Might be under language settings?

Had a similar problem with always-on subtitles on a Philips TV a few years ago, eventually found it and switced them off and no problems after.

Can you contact their customer support for advice?

Unlikely you would have missed it but, what about: Options > Subtitle Language > Off ?
