Im thinking of changing my car (02corrolla). Use it for work and usual toing and froing for farm and pulling handy trailer. Apart from the usual jeeps that I couldnt be bothered with, what type of car do lads ere have for a run about?

    small van is handy,
a berlingo or caddy are handy to put a calf or sheep in the back if stuck also

    Berlingo multispace

    van today - car tomorrow
high up like a jeep - economy like a car

Get a 1.6 diesel hdi 90 bhp if possible but the 75 isn't bad either.
Keep a good oil in the engine and change at or before scheduled interval

    That's it

Yeah small van here as well, every thing thrown into the back, very basic caddy but grand for me. Was thinking that the next time I get a baby carrier like a picnic or galaxy and turn it into a commercial. They are more comfortable and with the side doors you have better access and usually have a bigger eninge so would be good to tow.

you could pick up a 03/04 verso diesel for aroud 4K, cos of the 2.2 engine the tax is too high for many people so they are good vaue at the moment. i'm thinking of getting one later this year and going to take out the rear seats and make it a comerical. grand to drive and have higher spec then a van (air con, cuise control etc) and with the 2.2 engine plenty of grunt for pulling a trailer. i also like the idea of having the side doors and the big boot too. i dont really need a jeep but i would be pulling a trailer from time to time and my curretn little van is ok but can get pushed around with any bit of weight behind

Verso diesel gearbox is very soft, not suitable for pulling .

feck, i saw a good few pulling caravans so was assuming they were ok for handy sized trailers (wouldnt be pulling 4 bullocks in a ifor willams), mostly id be towing a single cow and a few calves. Had a couple of aventis's and did it ok, was expecting the verso with the bigger engine and longer base would be more stable. That said heavy towing like a cow or bullock would only be 2/3 times a year most trailer work wouldn't be that heavy. using the caddy and the missus's focus at the moment and they both feel a bit light.

Had one when I was a young lad and still in the carpentry trade. 1.7 diesel, as long as a hearse, carried the world of tools and the roof rack was long enough to carry any materials needed.

Partner has only 2 seats I think. Boxer has 3 iirc.

new partners can be got with 3 seats - one folds and acts as a table/desk.
