Need GP visit badly but no money?

    Hi all,

    I have no idea if this is the right Forum....

    I'm in desperate need of a GP visit as I injured myself badly over the weekend and will need a doctors cert tomorrow for work (I can't even walk even less make the work commute).

    My problem is, I have absolutely no money. I'm insured privately with Laya through work and have great coverage but as I would have to pay in advance, that doesn't help me. Unfortunately I have no one nearby that I could borrow the money from.

    Would my GP check me if I told them and pay next week(that's when I get my wage). It's really a bad situation....it usually ends up with me not going due to a lack of money....I might try applying for a GP card.

    I'm grateful for any tips!

    Why don't you go to A&E?
    You'll be sent a bill for €100 but at least you don't have to pay it today.
    If it's as bad as you say, A&E's your best option.
    Good luck

    My GP would. Why don't you call them and see what their policy is.

    Thank you so much for the replies! I'll try and call them to see what can be done.

    @fussyonion: What is A&E?

    He needs the cert for work tomorrow. If he goes to A&E there is no guarantee he will be seen by tomorrow.
