I just seen in my local Tesco the 16GB Nexus 7 for €148. I don't know if it is all Tescos but sure you can check your local one. I know it is the 2012 model and the new 2013 model was just announced but not out in Europe till September. It is still a good deal considering Argos is still selling it €209.99 here

There is a new Nexus coming out (Actually I think it just launched this week) so shops might be doing deals on the "older" first gen 7s.

Good tablet. (Especially if using yatse as awesome XBMC remote)

Wait for the new one if you can, unless they knock another 50 euros off the old one!

The new ones are looking to cost 220 Sterling for the 16G, so this is a fair bit of a discount of what it'll cost.

@OP, is it a refurb model like what the UK site is selling?

Got one of the Tesco Outlet ones from Uk for £119. Its refurbished but as far as I can see its brand new.Not a mark or anything. Charger in little plastic bags etc so have no fear of the refurbished ones. I think it may be a way of clearing unsold stock. Are these in any other Tescos as I know somebody who would like one?

That seems like a fair enough discount alright.I personally have the 32gb but I really want to get the new one.

Still at €249 in Tesco, Clonmel when I was in there at lunchtime.

No brand new. I picked one up for myself. Too good to miss. I really want the new one but won't be out Europe till September. I will probably get the new one eventually and give this one to my mother.

    Can you buy these online?

Not bad- one of my colleagues picked up one for EUR179 in PC World at lunchtime today (they also tossed in a free case). Personally- I'd be inclined to wait for the next generation one- seeing as its due here in only 3 weeks time. I bet there will be more offers to clear Generation 1 stock before then though.

None in Jervis Street just before they closed this evening. Any other sightings?

None in Maynooth last night either.

The Tesco on Baggot Street near Searsons pub has a few behind the counter in as you go in the door, 3 or 4 of them there

Hang on a few weeks until V2 is launched here- and all the retailer will be clearing their V1 stock.

I was thinking that. I assume argos,pc world and the likes will drop the prices. Thats assuming there will be some left!

How good is the Nexus 7 V1?

    What's a good price?

Nexus 7 is great. I've had mine since Christmas and use it all the time.

I can't find this in my tesco

I can't find this in my tesco

It was only ever in the larger stores that carry computer ranges- such as Naas/Maynooth/Clarehall/Dundrum (etc etc etc). Even many of the smaller stores who sell laptops- never carried tablets. Do ask though- on rare occasions they might have one in the cupboard at the customer service desk (Celbridge and Lucan have done).

With the new model out in 3 weeks- it is a bit of a false economy though- the 16Gb was discontinued a long time ago (I'm guessing before Christmas?) its highly probable you'll get a 32Gb cheap (well, relative to its original price- which in itself was cheap to begin with) in a week or two.

Its the case that you're just going to have to keep an eye out.

The 16 gb was never discontinued, it's the 8 gb that you are thinking of.

Me bad. You're right. The 16Gb was reduced to the price of the 8Gb, which was discountinued- and we got our EUR50 vouchers from Google. Tesco in their infinite wisdom, took over 6 months to reduce the price of the 16Gb model.

Its a couple of weeks ago now, but I picked one up in baggot street tesco, which is as about as small as non tesco express get. It was in behind the counter with the spirits, and would easily be missed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

OP here, my local Tesco no longer have a display price for the 16GB version, but they are still selling the 32GB one for €249.99

Sorry Bricky I had a look in the Tesco on Baggot Street and they are sold out

I couldn't get them in Baggot Street when you originally mentioned them. I'm around the corner and there was none. Perhaps someone bought them all. Or the staff.
