What is the waiting time for this. Asking for a friend? They applied last year and have not heard anything at all

Unfortunately the waiting time is at least a year.
No harm to give SW a wake up call and ask what the story is....

I applied on the 23th of october 2012, and i have heard nothing yet. I rang them up last week and they said they were doing the october ones now, so i should hear in the next few weeks. Basically im waiting almost 10 months at the moment. It has me in a slight state of panic at the moment, if im refused, because it takes a year to hear back from appeals. my illness benefit runs out next march after 2 years of being on it. I will be out of work for another few years due to physical and mental illness. I sent in so many medical records with my application. im really hoping i dont get refused. But i heard they refuse the first application. Has anyone had any experience with this? thank you in advance.

I was told that all new claims are being dealt with quickly. Extra staff brought in so if u applied in last 2 to 3 months, u will b processed straight away

just to update from my last post. i got a letter today stating that my application was successful, free travel pass also came today too. so waiting 10 months to hear back. 10 months of worry may i add. but a complete sigh of relief now. Now i can actually have heat this winter, with the fuel allowance, and i get extra for living alone too. Good luck to everyone else. Just be prepared for a very long wait. regards.
