    Hi folks

Would be interested in your thoughts on a car similar to this. I currently have a 00 Astra and looking to upgrade. Lovely car but feels a bit less powerful than my Astra.

I do about 8k miles a year so think a petrol would be better than a diesel for me.

    Thanks for your help

Hi folks - looking to upgrade my 00 1.4 petrol Astra hatchback which ive had for the last 6 years.

Mileage - about 8k miles a year. Don't drive to work so could be idle Mon to Fri apart from to odd spin around town. Weekends - every few weeks trip to West.

    Budget - 10 to 12k

Looking for something similar size and reliable which I'll have for a good few years.

Not into my cars that much so open to all suggestions.

    My initial thoughts were

    Another Astra
    VW Golf
    Ford Focus

Also thinking that I don't do enough mileage for diesel but open to correction.

Thanks very much for your help

Look for a 1.2 or 1.4 tsi. Will be a far superior car.

These should have been killed off in 2008 when emissions based tax came in,

It'd kill me to spend €15k on something so underpowered

They were a stop gap until the MkVI go the 1.2 TSi engines.

This one is very reasonable. Warranty till 2017

Basic but cheap compared to the golf.

    If its genuine
