I'm about to start a house renovation project. The main work will be exempted development - rear extension under 40m2 being the largest component. I also wish to widen the front gate and widen the driveway - this will require planning as far as I know.

Can I just apply for planning for the non-exempted part and not mention the other works?

    In short, yes.

Just make sure that the conditions applied to the exempted development are fully adhered to.
