Dunnes Stores have 1Kg Uncle Bens Rice for €1.74. That's half price but they're not making it easy. I got the last 2 on Friday morning and none on the shelf Sunday or Monday early. Checked with the Customer Service (manager's workstation) desk and it took the 15 minutes to find out they had them in stock and get them to the desk. I took 10 out of the 12 in the outer. Result 2 on the shelf.

10 mins later........... Out of Stock??????????

PS: Change the "Always better value" to Sometimes Better Value. Doesn't have the same ring to it but closer to the truth.

People go in and take 10 packets at a time and then you wonder why they have no stock out......do you expect Dunnes to have an assistant standing beside every special offer in every store waiting to restock it as it sells.....

I buy 1kg's of basmati from Supervalu for €1.49 (daily basics). I think Tesco have a similar price on their basic basmati.

You're paying for the marketing my friends.....

If you buy multiple bags at a time thinking your getting a bargain your paying over the odds.

Pop down to the local Asian market and get the large bags they sell.

Which will almost certainly be better quality too.

you wont beat tesco or supervalu though for basmati.

a 5kg bag of tilda (top notch quality) is generally €10. a 10kg bag between €15-20 (depending on whether its 'broken' basmati or not).
