    Has anyone seen any learner road bikes under 300 euro 2nd hand worth buying
    I can buy a carrera tdf for 312 euro in halfords but i may be better searching for 2nd hand except ive no idea whats good

    To be fair it takes a while to get your head around what to watch out for.

    I'd suggest a trip to Belfast for a Triban 3 from Decathlon (www.decathlon.co.uk) or some people here rate some of the higher range Carrera's.

    Another alternative if you're Dublin based is to get an old Steel framed road bike from Rothar or square wheel which will give you an idea of geometry, comfort, handling, riding technique et as well as making you feel like superman when you get a new bike with all mod cons later.
