Ryanair flight cancellation

    Hi,
Can anyone advise me on this please. My ryanair flight was recently cancelled, 20 mins after its intended departure. I was offered a flight which was 5 days later as it was the only available flight to my destination. I told them I could not afford accommodation and they advised I take up the refund option-which I have yet to do. In the mean time I have taken a flight with a different airline to return home.

Only now have I realised that they should have offered transfers and accommodation for the 5 days as that is what EU rights declare.

Can anyone advise me on what I should do. Is there a deadline by which I must take up the refund option. And how should I go about compensation claims etc. Thanks.

I only saw this today but you can get information here
    http://www.aviationreg.ie/Cancellation/Default.209.html

and the complaint form is here

It worked for me, I got compensation for a cancelled flight.
