Cosmic Elite purchase without freehub?

Just a quick question here, I am purchasing a pair of Cosmic Elites today and was going to buy them from wiggle for 370 until I spotted them on merlicycles for 307 euro.

When buying them from wiggle, it asks which freehub I need with the wheel, but when buying from merlins.. they dont ask??? Why is this? Is it the case that merlins are supplying the wheel without the freehub??

Am I better to buy of wiggle if I have to make a seperate freehub purchase with the merlinscycle one??

..... Or am I totally off the mark??

Says they're Shimano/Sram fitting - looks like the Campagnolo model is out of stock.

They do, and the spacing between the sprockets on the cassettes is the same, you can use a 10-speed Shimano derailleur with a 10-speed Sram cassette and vice-versa.

Thanks for that, any idea, when the new wheel arrives, is it a difficult process moving the cassette over from the old wheel?

Provided you have a lockring tool and a chain whip, it'll be easy enough.

UUUmmmmm, we`ll just have to see how that goes ... Wheels ordered anyway, looking forward to the first ride on them.. 307 pretty good value

No very simple, but you need correct tools; a lockring tool and a chainwhip.

Cheap enough to buy and essential kit if starting to do your own maintenance.

Take care when opening lockring that it doesn't slip. Very little engagement between tool and lockring and quite a bit of force, a combination which can end in tears!

YouTube and park tools website are excellent.

If you can get a tool which allows you to use skewer to hold tool in place it helps
