Seems like an interesting little box for a tenner
I wonder if we will be able to get it here and if it could be used for local files with Plex etc

    Better description here
No Netflix unfortunately and I would like to see what apps from the Roku store can be loaded on it (Plex etc would be great)
for a tenner its a no brainer for a bedroom tv etc

Cant see what you could do with it though? Would it be geo locked to uk?

It would be brilliant if it could be hacked to play netflix though!

Edit: Thread in BA about this unit... and after doing a bit of research on it, it does seem that chances of hacking this little box are slim.

I got one yesterday via Parcel Motel. Took about 5 days from placing the order.

Works perfectly with Plex side loaded though you probably need a decent server.

The Vimeo, YouTube, TuneIn, TED, etc channels work just fine as does everything in the Roku Store. BBC iPlayer and the ch5 thing don't - geolocked - unless you can play with DNS.

The PlayTo app in the Roku Store allows streaming from and control by Android devices. For ipad you may have to purchase the IOS Plex app.

    No Netflix, LoveFilm.

It's a Roku LT with some firmware changes to suit Sky.

It's quite possible Sky could brick it tomorrow - but it's only a tenner....

Hi . I just bought one. To be honest I want it to stream my downloaded torrents to the TV without messing with plugs.

But I would also like to use BBC Iplayer.

I have an old belkin router . Is this the way to go about it?
    http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?rnId=44 I think I have to pay.

Streaming torrents already downloaded should be easy - we know Plex works - see early in this thread on how to add Plex to the box for free, and you can download the Plex media server to your PC, Mac or Linux box for free too tho I think you can get extra goodies if you pay.

PlayTo in the Roku store might be useful too, if you use android.

Re iPlayer - a little trickier - you need to play about with DNS, perhaps via Tunlr which is free, though may be restricted to catchup as live stuff doesn't work at the moment with Tunlr.

Here's a list of the hidden screens.
Use this info at your own risk!
Apart from the sideload info (vital for Plex and who knows what else), the one to stop "pings" might be useful for some, and perhaps someday if Sky do something nasty in an update, one of the system resets might be of use.

This is from a U S site re Roku's but work ok for the NowTV box.

To access undocumented features of your Roku, enter the following key sequences on the remote. You should be at the home position before beginning with no errors on the screen.

Secret Screen (System Info, Resets, USB Test, Logging)

    Home x5
    Fast Forward x3
    Rewind x2

Platform Secret Screen (Temp, IP, SSID, WIFI Details)

(Per Roku Chat Support, Roku LT, Roku 2 XS, and Roku 3 all operate at 40-45 degree celsius)

    Home Button x 5
    FF x 1
    Play x 1
    RW x 1
    Play x 1
    FF x 1

    Access Roku Debug/Bandwith Cap Screen

    Home Button x 5
    RW x 3
    FF x 2

Access Roku Developer Mode (“Side-Load” a Roku Channel)

    Home Button x 3
    Up x 2
    Right x 1
    Left x 1
    Right x 1
    Left x 1
    Right x 1
    Note URL of Roku
    Select Enable Installer
    Accept Developer Agreement
Open URL of Roku in Browser
