Hi and sorry for hitting the place with another recommendation thread, but..

I'm the same as many here in that my daily commute is going up in the coming weeks to in the region of 90km practically all of which will be motor way based.
I'm looking for something that comes in under €7K and would be hoping to get a 07 at the very least for that. Been a petrol man up until now but i'm assuming that diesel is the way to go with the new level of mileage?
The only other strong preference i would have is for a saloon over a hatchback.
    All advice greatly appreciated.

Not really enough for a diesel i don't think. It's only about 280 miles or so a week, a small engined petrol would be the way to go.
I have a diesel myself but i've often done that mileage over a day or 2

I do like the look of the Civic. Had a Corolla for the last 6 years but was getting the general vibe that they ain't what they used to be..

    Thanks for the opinions though..

    00. Never gave me any trouble over the years and I suppose I was looking for something that might get me another 5 or 6 years..

the model from 02 on is fairly reliable. Girlfriend has had one for two years and all that she has had done is oil filters plugs and tyres. I have a buddy with one with over 150K miles on the clock and she feels good to drive.

Also some of the diesels are the 2.0 d4d that is in a lot of taxis.
