    Just curious does anyone know can they hang out and move around freely without being mobbed in the posher parts of Hollywood or is it a case of bodyguards and bulletproof glass where ever they go?

    The whole of those areas is done with Truman Show type bubbles.
    So within those, they're free to roam and graze.

    From what I read/watched/heard and gathered. Hollywood actors roam freely in the posher parts of Hollywood.

    But it's an interesting question. I get the impression that us average joes don't really know alot about what goes on in Hollywood. Like 1% of things. As alot doesnt get exposed. There has to be some mad party scene and with that comes crazy well known stories within the town. Like how do big hollywood stars get their drugs? :P Has to be some massive network.

    There has to be some well known supplier, someone who is just as famous as saying "Harrison Ford" or someone within the town :pac: But that's the darker side of Hollywood that doesnt get touched upon.

    Hollywood is a sh1thole. Even the feral dogs wear panic alarms on their collars.

    By and large they own enormously expensive homes in out-of-the-way places that are filled with enormously expensive houses - hence, no mobbing. A family member is very friendly with a hollywood a-lister, their kids are best friends - they spend their summers in a place that is so dopily hard to get to that the idea of getting mobbed there is just a non-runner. They regard filming and promoting a film as "work" which involves mobs of people, then they get the hell out of dodge for some peace. I get invited to "come visit" every once in a while. Then I look at the journey involved and go -naah.

    Any actor worth his/her salt wouldnt live in Hollywood (Beverley Hills/Malibu etc) anyway. Most live in NYC, London, Europe or on a ranch.

    True. I found it extremely disappointing

    They are free to roam and stalk their natural pray. Here we see a wild Matt Damon approach an unsuspecting homeless person, the homeless man senses danger, but there is little he can do once Damon clamps his jaws around his neck. Once Damon has eaten his full, he leaves the carcass to the Z-list celebrities, it isn't long before Sarah Jessica Parker trots in to pick over the remains.

    Maybe not Hollywood but surely living in LA must be of some benefit to some actors

    Dude, he's not running for election after eating a homeless person

    The inhabitants of Hollywood are protected by an ancient troll known as Hollywood Hulk Hogan to keep them safe at night. It roams around the gates of Hollywood laying in wait for potential mortal prey.

    Could the a-lister be Irish perhaps? I'm not daft enough to think you would ever name names but my guess is that it would be Liam Neeson especially if you're from up north. Everyone who I have met or know from around Ballymena ALL seems to have some connection to him or his family.

    Give us a few examples of who does live there and who doesnt.

    Wouldn't be the first politician to eat a hobo or two.

    Not an actor, but Kim Kardashian lives in Bel Air whereas an A-lister like Johnny Depp had the french estate and now a ranch somewhere.

    The dimmer the star ranking, the closer they live to LA I reckon.

    If they're working in "Hollywood", they have to at least have a place in the Los Angeles area - or else it has to be one helluva commute!

    PS: of the major studios, only Paramount is technically based in Hollywood (Melrose Avenue to the south), the rest are miles away and have been for years:
    - Disney, Universal and Warner are on the other side of the Hollywood Hills in the San Fernando Valley = Burbank and Studio City;
    - Sony (Columbia, MGM) is in Culver City, halfway to LAX;
    - Fox is in Century City, halfway to Venice Beach. In Die Hard, the "Nakatomi Plaza" building was actually the new 20th Century Fox headquarters (Fox Plaza), conveniently close to the existing Fox Studios, with some scenes filmed there while it was under construction.

    You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

    Bet he'd tell you if you asked nicely ;)

    Working in Hollywood doesn't necessitate owning a property though. For most of the A list crowd, they'd stay at a hotel or rent the many mansions available through prime real estate I would imagine.

    On set would require heavy work hours, so sometimes a kitted and well equipped "trailer" would do until they fly back home.
