Just voted there. Tough choices in some categories but I found I gave it those shows who are sadly no longer with us a lot because they deserve it and won't be around for the next awards.

I can see bias in some shows, but good survey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

I found there was a lot of clear choices - there was only maybe 2 or 3 I genuinely struggled with is a contrast to previous years where I debated each vote, so either a) this TV season was a bit s**t compared to the last few or b) 1 or 2 shows were so damn good, that my choices were obvious...

I like to think it was b)...

Tried not to vote Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, but their dominance of most categories made it hard. I presume they will dominate the awards.

well they are debatably 2 of the best shows currently airing (both would make my top 10 list of all time), maybe 2 or 3 other shows nipping at their heels, obviously every has different tastes,

Think breaking bad and GoT will walk most categories, but still waving my little pennant for Justified.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,016 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

I think I voted for ones I didn't even nominate in the end :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,943 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

    Serious lack of Justified

On another note I had a bit of a giggle when I saw Revolution in the most over rated show, how is that even rated lol

I swear to Glob, if Adventure Time doesn't win best kids show...

    :pac:

Did the survey, didn't watch any of the shows though....... Except for Adventure Time which is excellent :)

I just took a look at the results so far. Only a handful of categories have strong leaders at the moment. For example, Joffrey, despite comments on the "Character you love to hate the most" nomination thread, isn't way out in front like people predicted.

Best Drama is a 3 horse race.
Best Character is pretty even between 6.
Best New Show has 5 in the running.

Please don't abstain from voting because you think that some categories are foregone conclusions.

Nice one. Get your votes in, and do vote for the shows/actors which you want to win.

There is no point coming here next week saying "I can't believe (my favourite) didn't win, I voted for something else because I thought (my favourite) was a shoe-in"

Really hope Southland wins some stuff!!

Fringe and Continuum are brilliant, how did BB US get in there in front of BB UK?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Maybe because BBUK is a sh*te melting pot of unlikeable fame-hungry morons whose greatest aspiration is to be in the Mirror/Sun or in lads mags, where in reality they might be famous for 2-3 months and then vanish forever? :o

You haven't watched BB in a while then.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I was mainly querying how Big Brother US got on there as I can't imagine many from here downloading and watching an episode every 2 or 3 days for 3 months.

Love BBUS, never miss it... So much better when they can discuss strategy...
Its up there with Survivor for me and I flipping love Survivor...
BBUK is a pile of piss in comparison, hence it not being nominated...

    I guess I can't say I wasn't warned but I missed the vote :(

I thought I checked the awards forum a couple of days ago, but this was directly in television I see, oops! Oh well I'll look forward to the results anyway.

breaking bad and game of thrones dominating, rightly so, unquestionably the 2 best shows currently in production :)

Disappointing that Southland barely got a look in.

John Noble/Walter Bishop featuring prominently makes me happy :)

obviously late to this and did not see nominations but surprised nothing for spartacus

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Happy that Banshee got some recognition, and good to see that Elementary did well. Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad deserved to do so well, as they had some memorable moments this year.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,325 ✭✭✭✭Dozen Wicked Words

Predictable results on the whole, although I didn't vote for a good few of the winners, no one can argue about them really. Thanks for organising it Mr E

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,304 ✭✭✭Poochie05

Damn, I missed the vote! Was away :(
But happy enough with the results, though sad that Southland only figured in most underrated category...

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,002 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

Bit like the Golden Globes in the sense that they were a bit predictable but, unlike that award, these were deserving.

Echoing the shame on 'Southland' - all of us saying it deserved better so surely it must have gotten a decent amount of votes.

Deserved wins for Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones... No real surprises, but it was a solid year of television so that's to be expected...

    Best Kids Show
    1. Spongebob Squarepants
    2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)

Spongebob? Are you kidding me? What the hell are people watching? Spongebob hasn't changed since it came on the air in 1999, and while it was funny at first (and up to the film) its just old at this stage and the show holds no real depth.

People - introduce your kids to some quality tv shows: the likes of The Legend of Korra, Young Justice, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Regular Show all just blow Spongebob out of the water in every way - story, humour, characters.

adventure time and regular show are the best kids tv around

I'd argue that Gravity Falls is better but no doubt they're better than both Spongebob and TMNT by a mile.
