I am going to Ladies Day this year at the races next week & I got my dress today on sale in BT's, I have a lovely hat/fasinator it is big and has silk flowers on it. The lady in the shop advised me to go with the beige colour that is in the slip of the skirt which is what I have done with the hat & bag. She also talked me into getting a nice multi coloured necklace for the dress!! ... I dont want to have to much going on as I want to try and catch the eyes of the judges... My question is , should I leave the necklace and put on a drop necklace of somesort.. maybe a pearl ? also what should I do about jackets etc? I want to go for the 1940/50s style!

Does anybody have advice? I have linked a dress that is very similar to the dress I have bought. The only difference is the sleeves on mine are thiner and it is more of a v neck.

I'd say a pearl drop necklace would be great with the hat and dress, anything more would be a bit much with the hat IMO

lovely dress, would you go for little gloves and/or a pretty umbrella to complete the outfit?

Thanks, I was thinking of maybe one of those frilly umbrellas you can get...? Not sure where they would be sold though.
