Tight Achillies

I'm just after finishing the couch to 5k and am aiming for ten k and after the last few runs my left achillies (other one seems fine) has felt a bit tight and sore... by the next day it is ok. Are there any specific stretches or anything I can do to help this, I generally just do the generic ones after my run, although perhaps not as religiously as I should.

Bit worried after googling it cause it is full of horror stories of long term problems etc, I assumed it was just like a pulled muscle and it will heal itself, I thought that I just overdid it one of the days when I stupidly pushed myself really hard (It was quite sore after that run (which was the first time it hurt,) especially going up stairs, after todays run about 6 days later it is only a little bit sore)

My route is quite varied, I run cross country through fields for about two k, then I do the bulk of my run running laps around some GAA pitches, then I do another kilometer and a half or thereabouts on footpaths.

    Any advice?

Oh I should also say that the pain is not at the heel, or the back of my ankle but is just above it if it makes sense... at where the top of your sock would cover if you follow... is that even my achilles?

Mod: Medical advice is prohibited by the charter. Best advice anyone can give here is seek professional advice if you are worried about it being an injury. Referral pains can have different root causes for the same pain pattern so nobody here can accurately give you sound advice
