car won't start one day -will the next???

Hey- So my temperamental 02 Renault Clio has a mind of its own!

*Engine management light has been coming on and off this 6 months after getting it fixed several times.*

Got it serviced before the nct (under body car wash on the day of nct) and all went well, it didn't pass on the suspension- that was all. Passed the following week

After 1st nct, went and did the shopping and when i started the car it wouldn't rev- engine running but that was it! got it towed and the petrol accelerator plug was reconnected(think that was the cause) -worked after same.

2 days later, same thing happened but mechanic picked car up next morning and it started fine- couldn't find the cause? drove for another 3 days-same thing happened.Started car the following morning and was fine- went out to car this morning and now the engine won't even start, there's a ticking noise coming from engine when trying to start the car?

Anybody any insight? Going of my Trolley

it's your battery what are the clicks like? if it's fast repeated clicking then it's your battery cable.

why would the battery have just given up- its not long in ?- 1 click noise then continues squeaky noise for 5 sec seems to be coming from the engine/coil area

Battery failure that's all I can think of.

Could be the coil pack on the way out. I had similar with a 1.4 Megane years ago, ended up getting rid of.

My sister had a similar problem with her clio and it was the coil
