Dreaded Limp Mode.

My car is suffering from the dreaded limp mode,checked all vacum hoses and pipes doesn't seem to be a leak!Replaced MAF(with one from a crashed car!) cleaned inlet manifold and egr, now the only thing I can think of is, I replaced coolant temp sensor (about a year ago)and because of the location of the sensor,between rear of engine and bulk head(REALLY AWKWARD),I pulled one of the wires out of its housing,could this possibly be the cause of all my problems?VW Passat 1.9Tdi AVB.

Get yourself vagcom. Random guesses other wise. I don't think the sensor wire would be causing limp mode.

My Focus went into limp mode recently, got a test done on it and it said replace the camshaft sensor. Hopefully that will sort it out.

You could always start with the cheaper treatment..

Not a permanent fix though. As pointed out about,,fault codes should be checked out.

Nothing dreaded about limp mode at all,it's a great way of flagging a potential problem with the air/fuel systems on your car. Before the car would happily chug along until the problem became more apparent/expensive

Just a wee update,got tubing today for little money 3€ 7' foot my local motor factor shop, and got the Mr Muscle foam oven cleaner in Tesco 3€..

i had a 2008 1.2 seat ibiza and it would go into limp mode every time a rear brake or indicator bulb would blow,was a total pain in the arse
