I need a bit of help on this please ...
The ac/dc adapter has has started to give some problems ( there appears to be a bad connection within the sealed adapter )

I have an old Gateway adapter which fits nicely into my laptop but is it ok to use it.
Details of the two adapters are as follows:

    Toshiba
    ----
    Input 100-240v~ 1.3A 50-60 Hz
    Output 19v 3.95A

    Gateway
    Input 100-240v 2.4A 50-60Hz
    Output 19V 4.74A

    Thanks for any help.

Below might help, there might not be anything between them with tolerances etc.

    Thanks for reply.
I'm not sure if I should use it....I'm not to hot on the technical stuff.

Check the polarity of the supply as well.
