To include the xeon on budget I had to put a lower spec graphics card than I would normally recommend at that budget.
Although that's probably not a problem as the cheap 19" monitor has a fairly low resolution which the 7850 will have no problem with.
The system is for gaming and programming but you did not say what applications you would be using to take advantage of hyper-threading which is the only real advantage a xeon has over an i5.

Not a bad build but you recommended 32 bit windows which can only use up to 4gb of ram seems a bit ridiculous!

Called up a friend and he was able to give me a monitor and my mam has a spare copy of windows 7

I'm still interesting in hearing which software you plan to use that take advantage of hyperthreading to make sure you are getting the best bang for buck with the xeon.

If you need hyperthreading then the xeon is great value but if you don't need it get the i5, it's cheaper.
Or you could get the newer haswell i5 for about the same price as the xeon which should be a little faster for gaming.

Would you not go for the xeon over the 4670? Performance and price are virtually the same. At least games that use more threads will benefit from the xeon in future.

You might as well grab a 760gtx now that you have the budget for it as well.

What monitor did you get from a friend? What size/resolution is it?

It would and it looks like the 660 ti I had put in was priced incorrectly, it's now €264.
The 660 non ti is still a good card.

The Zotac one is still on Novatech for 180 pounds I'd say.
