My friends modem is a really old one( I mean like 6 to 7 years old) it causes some problems(the internet goes off every 30 mins or so).
He called the internet provider and they said that the problem would be resolved by getting a new modem as his one is really old.
So then I decided maybe I would give him my spare one, only my modem noting else no powersupply or anything just the modem on its own(I have two as I changed internet provider last month, and my old modem was working) I gave him my modem and today I kept telling him to try it on around 3 or 4 times because I wanted to play xbox with him..he said he will try it later on the day.
Then later on I called him on the phone and just said 5 words ''I AM GOING TO TAKE A SHOWER'' he replied saying okay I am going to try the modem now
He plugged in the modem realising it did not power on, (he used his own powersupply which was for his own modem) so then I told him maybe the problem it is not turning on is because he should use my power supply which I did not give him because I though his existing one would work on it.
So he said leave it and put back in his old modem and it did not power on, he even tried to put in a different room and still not power on.
So then he started blaming it on me, if I never gave him my modem, this would have never happened.(He has not internet now!!)
So who is wrong and who is right, and any soloutions
I am going to give him my powersupply for the modem I gave him

Always check if power supplies match a device before plugging them in. Neither of you did this, you are both at fault. You probably should have given him to correct power supply for the device, and he should have checked that the one he had was correct.

He should just buy a new modem and get over it It's no one's fault really.

Wise words from a noble man
Okay now we have both confessed to each other and we are not mad or blaming one another anymore but one more thing

Check his trip switches are all turned on. Was the vacuum in the same socket?
