This seems to have gone under the radar, but Quayside Cinema in Balbriggan in now an Omniplex.

There is a link to their omni page. The selection of films has vastly improved, and I found this release, which suggests upgrades either have happened or will do. Its not dated.

I know the cinema had been for sale a while, and its fantastic to see investment in the town. The selection of films on show had gotten very poor, and a lot of new releases had been skipped. With seat selection at purchase on the omni site, I will be using it more than I had been.

Golden question is,how good are the nachos? Omni Santry ones are prepack junk. Liquid cheese ftw!

I saw Pacific Rim in it last week, the screens and sound systems have definitely been upgraded (well, at least in the cinema I was in). The place is being re-done, the whole lobby area has been cleared out and repainted, but I presume it wasn't finished when I was there.

Bad news on the nachos front though. I haven't tried them (not even sure they have them yet), but they are going the prepacked route, as we were told this when it was confirmed they were taking the cinema over. Boo-ums!!
