Looking for a Can of Car Paint

    Hello,

I am sprucing up an old snare drum of mine and I want to spray it the same colour as my wagon.

I was wondering if anyone would know of a place near Kilcock who would either sell or mix up a can of it. The VW colour code is LW5Z, appropriate for the drum as its called Jazz Blue :D

My maths could be wrong but it looks like I need to paint 242 square inches. (14" diameter x 5.5" height)

My next question would be how much do you think I would need for that type of space and would I be better off then getting a clear lacquer sprayed on it for protection? Mind you, I wont be driving it down the motorway :p I would be up for DIYing it carefully rather then getting a place to do it, money is tight.

Hope all are enjoying the good weather
    bbk

Very retro! Didn't fender match guitar colours to auto paint in the 50's and 60's? Lake placid blue, candy apple red etc?

I have heard about that from guitarist friends alright.

It will look quite nice when finished, though I am a sentimental fool haha

Try Kilcock Motor Factors. 1 aerosol can of paint and 1 of clear coat, you might need primer as well, to help the paint stick to the metal.

Thanks for that, I'll try them.

The primer is just drying at the moment.

    :-)
