Hi all, I'm looking for around 15 early to mid eighties cars for a film being shot in Dublin in September. They don't have to be runners, preferably not showroom condition or sports / high end models. They are going to be parked on the side of the street and need to blend into the background and reflect the economic hardship of the time.

Also, I need a milk float, like the one in Fr. Ted if anyone knows of one. You can contact me through the website http://moviecars.ie or the facebook page http://facebook.com/moviecars.ie

    Thanks

reflect the economic hardship of the time.
    Thanks

with the standard wheels popped back on, my '82 Golf might fit the bill? I put it together as an homage to the pre-Celtic Tiger "just keep it going" mentality of Irish motoring.

That says economic hardship alright. :D

While we're on the subject, how much does this pay?

It varies depending on the car, in cases like this it's more about expenses being covered and having your car on the big screen.

does that line work for the actors and crew too? ;)

Can you PM me the details. I have a 1989 mini, thats not in perfect condition, and has some nice rust on it, which will fit in perfectly well for the 80s theme!

I know you said no "HIGH END" but I have an original Dublin reg'd 1986 300SE in decent, certainly not showroom condition which would look authentic parked on the street.

Thanks, I've been to a few already, I'm always looking for new vehicles for the site, any vehicle has potential to get some work and earn money.

Just a thought - if it's set early to mid eighties shouldn't some cars be late '70s? Plenty of beetles about. ;)

That's what I was thinking. If its set in the early/mid eighties then the early/mid eighties cars should look new and they need 70's cars

It's actually set in '95, so technically early nineties cars might work, the director has just requested early to mid eighties cars.

NCT cert should be removed. Tax disc should be replaced with a scribbled "Tax in the post" note wedged into the same spot.

Any new looking cars can be modified with a carboard sign with "For Reg" written on it. This can only be attached with baling twine and should be weathered to look like it's been there for 3 months at least.

Brown crappy tape should be used to hold on one mirror, the other one is long gone, aerials should be replaced with a coat hanger.

All cars to have this on it somewhere......

    533779_10151249530564179_134764176_n_zps6b446a72.jpg

and one from.... "Free a Nipper"..."Free Nicky Kelly"....."Smash H-Block"...."Jesus Saves But He's Not on PAYE" stickers. A sun visor strip with some C&W band should pay extra, Big Tom or Ray Lynam & The Hillbillies gets bonus points.

If it's set in '95 any faded Italia 90 stickers or "Who put the balli nthe english net"/Euro 88 stickers are obligatory.

    Now ye're motoring!!!

have an 89 E30, factory original, immaculate condition, want to use it, even during the 90's some people were cashed up.

if you want to represent an authentic slum y'll need a drug dealer somewhere

Hope it's not for Jim Sheridan. Zero attention to detail when matching cars/eras in his films. V sloppy.

Mid 80s onwards would be spot on for mid 90s though...
