New poles, on the M8, J9 and J13 Southbound

    anyone else notice the new pols on this section of road. They're every 500m or so, no sign posts on them yet.

    not sure what they're for, but if permanent, going to make it very sign/information heavy section of road

    Haven't seen them yet myself but from what you describe are they like the mile markers on the M7? If so they're probably for identifying where you are in the event of breakdowns etc..

    poles are about 8 foot high. too tall for markers?

    There's signs on the M7 ones.

    It's like their giving co-ordinates tbh.
