Hi all basically I'm going to Canada and booked flights to Canada through Skyscanner then Budgetair.ie. (Departing Sept 3)

I have wedding at home at Christmas so will be returning then and booked flight to return on 23-Dec which is a Monday. However whatever way I looked at tickets 4 days later I've noticed the return says Monday 23rd Sept. So now I'm in a panic I've yet to contact budgetair as they not open until the morning but just wondering can anyone advise me or offer some words from experience etc

Well, you'll either have booked the wrong date or not..and it sounds like you have.

Unfortunately, only the travel agent can tell you for sure: but it's quite likely the ticket will be either non-changable, or attract a hefty fee for changes.

But thing is I'm 100% certain I put in December but as you say I will probably get hefty fee but does anyone know how bad this could be?

Only they will know. Airline fares are complex, there isn't one set fee. It could be from "can't be changed for love nor money" up to a couple of hundred euro and/or any difference in the fare and many different points in-between.

what sometimes happens I have noticed, is you put in your date part (so 23) and then you choose your month (December) but occasionally when booking on my tablet, for some reason the month reverts back to the same month as the departure (so in your case September). Given that both dates are a monday, it would be easy not to notice. Perhaps do a dummy booking again and see if that is what happened?

When booking I always, check double check and check again that the dates are right before hitting the 'payment' button!
Sorry for you OP, sucks when things like that happen!

also had something like that happen to us in Asia. Thankfully the date change was a relatively small charge.
I had been looking at flights on different dates/locations with the same booking website on several tabs. I was sure I had selected the correct date, and proceeded with the booking. I don't know whether the wrong date slipped by me during the confirmation stage or whether the website displayed my desired info and then in "confusion" sent the wrong dates because of all the ticketing/pricing requests going from my browser... I ended up with wrong dates anyway, and only when going through all the booking printouts that I noticed that. OP, might that be something you did?

anyway, in future will always refresh and check prices on a single tab when purchasing.

Agreed from now on I will check 5-10 times but worst was I had to pay €100 each to change flight and €220 each for admin costs
