Can we draw a halt to the 'Some car driver did ... to me' threads please?

While I understand there is some frustration over the number of recent threads in this vein, the odd one does no harm and actually can be informative and on occasions entertaining. A blanket ban on such threads would appear an OTT reaction to me. The solution is in the hands of the posters - if you think these threads should not take up the front page, don't post in them. That way they will drop off quickly, or establish themselves as topics that posters wish to discuss

+1, or at least stick them all in a megathread

Why would you want to do that on a forum-surely that's the whole point?

What's an off the cuff incident to one person might be extremely traumatic to another so where's the harm getting another opinion or two?

I'm currently off work having been cleaved off my bike last week. I didn't feel the need to ask for help here as I'm au fait with the formalities associated with this type of incident but had it happened to another they might get good (and perhaps not so good) advice here.

Perhaps just scroll pas them in the future?

p.s. I know this goes on a bit and it's not a dig as such at you OP, just my
    tuppence worth

A megathread would not work - if you have more than one "topic" running at the same time it can become virtually impossible to track which posts relate to which topic

Sorry lads and no offence meant. I do agree that some incidents need to be discussed and I wasn't pleading to the mods.

I just want to avoid the threads that just degenerate but that I can't help myself from reading!
