    hi guys
ive just came from a friend and ive noticed that my light came on.. never happened before...

when i checked for the code (break + acceleration pedal) i get error 1482...

i found that it could be

    1482 Fan Relay 2 Circuit High/Low

i did notice that my fan is spining more often than before, but i was thinking it could be due to very hot weather...

    any ideas???

    ... googles opel 1482

    ... http://www.rac.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?12152-Vauxhall-Corsa-p1482-error

Seems to indicate nothing directly wrong with you fan system and a possible fix there.

Best to go to a good independent mechanic. I dont know any in limerick but Hinchy's (a main dealer) seems to have a good reputation

    ive visited 3 of them...
and all of them have different opinion...
i might go to dealer, but im afraid that they will rip me off for check up

the above link relates to a 2003 astra g. What year is yours? worth checking that the fuses and relays are working correctly first

"The relays for the radiator fan are in the small fuse box at the back of the engine compartment. Relays numbers 2 and 6 are for the fan.
Also check the fuses in the other small fuse box next to it. Fuses 4 and 8.
If these all check out okay, then suspect the control module which is behind the front bumper on the passenger side. You can just about remove it with the bumper in place but easier if you remove it. They are known to fail and not dear from Autovaux, a national Vauxhall motor factor"

Ive replaced both relays, they are green items in box next to fuse box...

    all fuses seem ok

    my astra is 2001 1.4 G

i presume he is talking about this board:

that looks like an astra h rear fuse box to me, you might need a new cooling control module

this link says if you have air con then theres no cooling module so maybe you have one? think hinchys or an auto electrician is your best bet

ive met few mechanics, electricians and noone know that might cause this...

ive no air condition nor cooling module, as ive checked on the righ side where it shout be , and its not....

ive changed 2 relays but still makes no difference

    this is my error

if car is running fine i wouldn't worry about it. just keep an eye on the temperature

car IS running fine... but to reduce temp from FAN2 speed i need to go fast or to use heating in the car at maximum...

ive just came from one more "electrician" and he told me that ECU should be fine...
just connection between relay and fan...

After all fuss it was ecu, so all they had to do is to reprogram it and all good to go.
Got warranty for 12 months on it.

Sorry to beat a dead thread, but I'm having precisely this issue with an 04 1.4 Astra G

    P1482-4
No air con in my car, I've even replaced the radiator fan as when I bench tested the old one there was too high a resistance causing a short. New fan works fine when bench testing but the error still occurs.

After researching over the last few weeks (and driving really fast with the heat blasting on full all the time to prevent overheating) I'm 99.99% sure its the ECU at fault.

My issue now is convincing my mechanic its the ECU! I've mentioned it multiple times but he seems to think its not the root cause.

Question - do you have any idea what they did to your ECU, and where did you get it done (main dealers/send away repair/indy mechanic etc.)
