    I'm guessing you're a girl?.

I've never given a bike (or car) a name, however I ride a yellow BMW R1100S ~ its pretty bloody yellow, and the lads call it anything from 'The Banana Bike' to 'The Bumble Bee'.

A few weeks ago we had the 81 in the bar, about 20 plus HD's and a few people were commenting on their bikes when someone says to me ~

"yea there's some impressive bikes there alright, but what c*nt parked a bitch yellow beemer at the end" :o

There ya go, I get some stick over it but I've never given a bike a name.

Nope. I always thought it was common practice to name your bike. Very nice bike. I'm looking at getting a BMW for my next one. I used to hate them not to long ago.

SV650 also, called Big Suze (any fans of the C4 comedy Peep Show might get the reference).

A mate had an 1100 GS in yellow. It was known as the canary.

Never named a bike and never will as it seems a bit odd to me. Used to call my RVF400 '****box' a lot but don;t think that counts!
Currently on an 09 R1 and KTM 990SMR

I drive a sv1000s. I don't have a name for it although when i exit most corners i find myself saying "'mon ya bastard" pretty much every time as i open the throttle. So i guess that could be the bikes name, lol

Called all of my bikes a few names on ocassion...none of which are acceptable for an open forum ;):p

Knowing her name would be too much of a commitment, I like to just ride her for a while and then go home. No talking. 125 varadero.

because i used to have so much trouble startin her my RSV Mille is called the "gilopie",

my brothers t509 speed triple is called "rattle"s cause its shaking itself apart,

and my Friends 92 blade has many names mostly slagging the fact it's so old you need to commision carpenters to whittle spares for it. (yes it's still the fastest of our 3 bikes but i think thats alot to do with the hooligan riding her)

I called one of my bikes Rosebud... it broke down... a lot. The bike naming tradition ended there.

I've actually only ever named one of my bikes, her name was Betsy, a Kawasaki W650 and she was the love of my life :D

My partner at the time knew it was a three way but she didn't mind

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
