    Hi all
What is the smallest size case I'll get a standard atx board in to?
Looking for something as compact as possible.

    Thanks

Probably a Midi tower. If you want a compact machine go with a mATX board or even an ITX

Compact in what way? Corsair's Air 540 is compact, but only insofar as the height and depth.

A bit more information is needed, I think. Why do you need ATX specifically? Is mATX/ITX not an option?

Hey guys. I have acquired an atx socket lga775 mobo and processor which will be used to build a dedicated mame pc. Need something small and compact to fit in my arcade cabinet.

Basically I already have an atx board!

You'd be better of just picking up an mATX H61 board or something, I think. Maybe even just run everything of a Raspberry Pi.

Sorry, I'm a bit out of touch.

Will that h61 board support my 775 processor?

Sorry, misread your post. I thought you only had the motherboard.

There isn't really going to be anything compact for ATX... I mean, it is what it is. Depending on the size of this machine you're building, why not buy the cheapest case you can find on Adverts or something, cut the motherboard tray out of it, and mount only that inside the machine instead?

Yeah I could look at that or mounting the parts onto a sheet of timber.

Otherwise a midi tower seems the best size.
Spotted he Coolermaster 361 which seems an affordable and small option
