I am looking to buy new Mavic road wheels. I am thinking of either Askium 2013 @ 250 euros or Cosmic Elite 2013 @ 375 euros. I had the Cosmics about 12 years ago and i found them excellent quality.... smooth cartiadge bearnings and strongly built.

Do you think the cosmics are worth the extra money over askiums. The only really difference is the 30 mm aero rim of the cosmic against the 24 mm std rim of the askium.

I have read reviews and the cosmics are suitable for 90 kg+ riders .....which includes me

Askiums with tyres & tubes are €200 on merlin cycles, no contribution to make on the elites v askiums question

I'm a 90kg rider as well. Never ridden on Askiums before but had a great trip on cosmics. Once u get them up to speed they just keep on rolling, hold momentum so well. Not much good at climbing, but on the flats and descents brilliant bang for your buck.
