An explosion at the arrival hall of Beijing's Capital International Airport shocked travellers and may have killed one person, according to messages and photos posted by several different witnesses on China's popular social media platform Weibo.

The strong explosion occurred about 6.24pm on Saturday at Terminal 3 of the Beijing airport, according to these accounts. One photo showed several security and cleaning staff attending to someone on the ground, with an overturned wheelchair lying nearby.

Another, supposedly taken shortly before the blast, showed a man in a short-sleeved shirt sitting in a wheelchair waving his arms in the air, with a white object in one hand, as if in protest. The online user who posted the photo identified the man as the possible victim, but his identity is still unknown

Obviously all unclear at the minute. Wouldn't take much notice of those wheelchair pictures really but you never know. Everyone is picking this up now slowly but surely

According to the hub of information these days, twitter, the man in the wheelchair was running an illegal tuk tuk and was badly beaten by police in 2005. This is all taken from his personal blog where he apparently had a petition seeking justice.

It's also got this picture after he sustained his paralysing injuries at the hands of the police. Quite graphic so definitely NSFW.
