I've been self employed all my life - now my business is in difficulty and I'm not making enough to live on and pay my bills. I've never been on social welfare. I've seen a course (Level 8) that would suit and open new doors for work - but just wondering where do I even start looking for help with finance, grants or what I might be entitled to. i have a daughter 13 so have bills to pay etc. Any help or pointers much appreciated. Thank you.

Hey, im in a similar position at the moment, self-employed and business going very bad, never claimed social welfare and have just excepted a full-time level 8 offer as a mature student for this year in WIT. Just wondering did you follow through with college and did you find a way of getting some sort of grants? I have a few people I must talk to but would appreciate your input..
