Hi guys, With Aer Lingus do you just check in at the counter in the airport and then they give you a boarding pass? I only ever used Ryanair where you just print off an email.

You can check in online in advance at aerlingus.com to save on the hassle of checking in at the airport. They also have check-in kiosks where you can print a boarding pass.

The best part is that you get to pick your seats when you check in at no extra cost, so do it as soon as possible 24 hours before departure. It is sad that it has become an exciting benefit to be able to pick seats in advance without paying for the privilege unlike years ago where it was the norm and still is on the major carriers.

You can checkin on the web starting 30 hours before your flight and select your seats for free. You then have a choice to print the boarding pass(es) at home or elect to print them from one of the green self-service kiosks in the airport. If you're travelling early in the day when the airport is likely to the busy, I'd print them at home in which case you can walk straight to the security queue when you get to the airport.

if you have luggage for the hold you have to do a bag drop....sometimes the queue is longer for this than the check in desk
