Struggling Sole Traders - What support exists for us?

    Hi

I setup my own business during the year, and business can vary week by week, and this makes life tough as you can imagine.

It seems from my point of view there's two options for struggling sole traders, the dole or a traditional PAYE job.

There's weeks where business is low and I struggle to get by, there's points where I think, why not just go on the dole and get 180euro, but I don't give in I'm always fighting to get business and aim high.

Sole traders like me are forced to go onto the dole, can't there be a better way to ensure hard working people like me can continue to work for ourselves but have that bit of security by the state if we need it.

Note: I have gone to my local enterprise centre for support but it's very limited.

What support options exist for sole traders from the state?
