Another Garmin Question - Edge 500/510

    Hi Folks,

I'm looking at sourcing a Garmin Edge 500/510 and have two questions?

For anyone that has upgraded from from the 500, do they consider it worthwhile now that the 510 is out a while now or having had some time with both?
Or indeed any opinions on the 500 vs the 510?

I see this website has been referenced in other threads, any positive/negitive experiences??

    www.handtec.co.uk

    Thanks for any advice offered.

I got the 510 after the USB connection on the 500 went. Have it about a month and the major differences are the touch screen and the better GPS (I get satellite fix in the house which never happened with the 500.

The other thing which may be of value is Bluetooth connection to your phone which allows direct upload to Garmin connect and LiveTracking. Dont really use it myself but might be of value to others.

I think it's a good upgrade, and I'm happy with it, though not sure what the price difference is as I got my 510 in the US.

I upgraded to a 510 from a 500. Only thing I can't work out (and I may be missing something very simple in the manual) is how to continue on to lap 2 without having to go through the save or discard option. I think what I may actually be looking for is an auto pause on the clock. I'm feelin a bit thick here so any help would be appreciated.

Meh, unless you're into live tracking I personally don't think it's worth it, even for the fast GPS lock-on.

I'm with MajesticDonkey -looked at both, and decided on the 500 -you don't really get enough benefit for the difference in price. The 500 is small, neat and does the job!
