Jobseekers and disability allowance question

Hi there,

I am currently in receipt of JA for myself with my wife as dependent. She has been ill for a while and is in the process of applying for disability allowance. Reading the guide for this I see that if she does get approved for disability she will not get an increase for a qualified adult (me) as I am already receiving JA. So my question is if she gets a separate payment to me will I be able to hold on to my JA and get my usual personal rate of €188, or would it be reduced because she has a higher rate of payment than she would have if she was a dependent on my claim (€188 vs €124.80). Sorry if this is confusing but i can't find an answer anywhere on the citizensinformation website and nobody seems to be answering their phones when I call the helpline numbers.

if she qualifies for disability allowance, both of you will receive €188

from citizens information website... If you or your spouse, civil partner or cohabitant qualifies for Disability Allowance and the other is getting another social welfare payment, you will each get the weekly personal rate of your respective payment.
